Chris Harris Bio
Chris graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1993 with an accounting degree and later received his law degree from the Salmon P.Chase College of Law in 1996. He passed state bar examinations in West Virginia and Kentucky and went on to earn valuable trial experience as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney. He left the public sector to focus his efforts and private practice on civil cases arising out of serious personal injury and wrongful death. In addition to injury and death claims, Chris also handles a wide range or probate and real estate matters, representing a number of banks as well as clients with coal and natural gas interests. For 25 years Chris has been representing his clients, at every level, in courtrooms across West Virginia and Kentucky.
Chris is a member of the board of directors of the First National Bank of Williamson and a former board member of the Kentucky Association of Counties, the Kentucky Coal County Coalition and the KACo Worker’s Compensation Fund. He is a former board member of the Tug Valley Arts Council and President of his local Kiwanis Club.He’s a licensed private pilot and long time member of the 5/23 Flying Club. He and his wife, Leslie, live at Forest Hills along with their three children, Corbin, Wilson and Emma.
PUBLIC SERVICE
Chris served in local government for 12 years as a Magistrate representing his community on the Pike County Fiscal Court, during which time he was elected as President of the Kentucky Association of Counties. He served three consecutive terms as State Representative for the 93rd Legislative District of Kentucky, representing Pike and Martin Counties, and was a candidate to represent Eastern Kentucky on Kentucky’s Supreme Court in 2020
